Vibe upgraded to odyssey, still lacks prius features

given our frequent need to carry many people, we have traded in our pontiac vibe for a honda odyssey. The prius will still be our primary car. The odyssey has at least 12 cup holders, and 4 power ports, but I'm still counting.

we are all recovering after our seemingly weekly visits to the ER. Sophie and I are home, Margaret should be back from hospital today or tomorrow.

Sophie is in the new lpch ward of the new el camino hospital opened a couple of months ago. She is doing well but will continue to be observed and oxygenated for a couple of days.

it never ceases to amaze me how california infrastructure fails in the rain. At least the Google bridge survived fine.

my parents are over for Christmas

good to have my parents over, at mppc Christmas service now. First time all three of us have been in the same country for 3 years.

Tim Tams arrived at our local Target today... different brandname but still made in Oz. We will see tonight how they stack up. Sophie is very dissappointed not to be having any.

Monterey again today...

I took my first vacation day for a while... surprisingly enough we all ended up @ Ghiradelli again. As she did last time, Sophie complained a lot when she realized we weren't giving her any chocolate.

DINK grocery shopping is no more ...

With a $369 grocery bill from WholeFoods I think our days of DINK-sized grocery shopping bills are over!

Good to get out of the house together. Sophie seems to like sleeping next to the fountain.

Just what we needed... a jackhammer right outside our bedroom window!

At least Sophie was able to sleep through it... she can sleep through any noise at all. We weren't quite so lucky.

Announcing Sophie Mitchell

Margaret and Andrew Mitchell are pleased to announce the arrival of their first child, Sophie Justine Mitchell.
Sophie was born last night (28 August 2009) at 10:14 pm PST (Sydney time: 29 August at 3:14pm), was 51 cm long and weighed 3.570 kilograms.*
Mother and daughter are doing fine, father is expected to eventually make a full recovery.

There are plenty of Kangaroo Paws in flower this time of year around here... reminds us of the front gardens in Voyager Point and Turramurra.

After dinner with Dawn and Jared, we had a great evening watching KA tonight, then David and Helen gave us a lift back to the Bellagio for desert and the fountains. In the background is the Effeil Tower.

My aunt and uncle from Australia came to visit us today on their way around the west coast. They are definitely getting into the swing of California with their Prius rental. No dog yet.
